I'm reading the paper, and I just came across a few comments made by Mark Cuban:

"There's not going to be one fan in (American Airlines Center) that doesn't believe that we can kick (the Spurs') butt all the way back to that ugly-ass, muddy-watered thing they call a River Walk."

"I love Michael Finley, but maybe the crybaby from Tim Duncan wore off on him."

How rude. I knew Mark Cuban was immature, but to stoop the level of calling people crybabies and belittling the River Walk? Come on. You would never hear anyone affiliated with the Spurs making comments like this.

why do they play a best of seven - why not a one game winner takes all?

People make a lot more money on seven games.

It's a bit much for sure...but he is just talking trash because he thinks he is a homeboy like all the players.

To be quite frank though...the "river walk" doesn't seem to be much of a river indeed.

"I like Mike, he's not a bad guy," the Mavericks' owner, Mark Cuban, said. "He just plays one on TV."

Cuban added: "This is entertainment. It's supposed to be fun."

Oh it's a river alright. You're just not allowed to call it ugly unless you live here. And after a few margaritas, who cares if it's ugly?

I think it's especially rude for Cuban to talk trash about San Antonio considering Avery Johnson's history.

Mark Cuban has, and I hope will always be, half super-nerd and half childish dick. That's the beauty of it.

As for the riverwalk, its only three feet deep and I have trouble locating the "San Antonio River" anywhere outside the city on a map. It is charming when not overrun by tourists, though.

Well it's not the Mississippi or anything, but the San Antonio River has been around for centuries. Why do you think the Alamo and the other Spanish missions are right next to it?

It did take out 50 people in '21. That is very river-like behaviour.

Tonight will, for me, for the time being, determine if my Mavs can be champions or are a cryptodynasty. One of my favorite terms since reading this article.

So satisfying I was craving a cigarette after

I sure hope the Mavs can take it the distance. All the Spurs need are a couple good younger players to replace/augment Bowen, Barry and/or Horry and they will be right back in it.

Agreed. As long as they have Duncan, Parker, and Ginobli, they're not far off.

Mavs-Suns is a chance to exorcise another demon: Steve Nash and the team that knocked them out last year. Series was 2-2, but I think both are different teams. This could be where the fact Phoenix played 2 7 game series' will come into play. Plus, the Mavs have been playing more or less with their full bench, where the Suns haven't been. There's no real rest before the series starts and every game is 2 days later. Mavs have home court and I think they're going to take it.
