Arson
I heard about it on the news, and was afraid it woudl happen to my house. It did happen to the park behind us.

P.S.
Should I have listed all of them? Can we just do the alphabet again, listing kid fears by letter?
P.P.S.
What would you give for your kid fears?

F...Fire. As in our house caught on fire when I was in 7th grade. To this day the smell of a burning building can freak me out.
Our nighbor's house burnt down a few years ago. Very tense as it started to spread.
It's different than arson, since anything can set your house on fire and burn up everything you own. (the 4th of July makes me nuts cuz the idiots across the street are always aiming their fireworks this way.)
Edit: I do want to say that I love a good fire and love fire pits, fireplaces(even though that's how our house caught on fire), and bonfires.

Gremlins.
I don't know why, but those things still give me the creeps. When I was a kid, I would always check behind the shower curtain for gremlins or other scary things. I don't like Furbies either, because they somewhat resemble gremlins.
P.S. ree-ree, my family lost everything in a house fire when I was in kindergarten, and I still have very vivid memories of the entire ordeal. A structure fire produces a very distinct smell, and it still makes me queasy.
