Wasn't expecting a World Cup here with FIFA's 'demands' of a host nation and the 'interfering' media but sorry to see USA pipped at the post by Qatar. Politics and economics beat football again.

A bit sad to think I won't see a World Cup hosted here in my lifetime.

While I am ticked the US didn't get it for '22, I am actually dying to see if Qatar can pull it off. They have to basically rebuild the entire country's infrastructure to be able to support this. I realize they have 12 years to do so, but it's going to be really fascinating to see them do it.

That is, if Qatar exists in 2022...

South Africa pulled it off. Brazil, Russia then Qatar. This could be very interesting.

I feel sorry for the gays, drinkers, women who don't like covering their shoulders in 130 degrees. and the jews. all these people who would love to check out a world cup in 12 years are going to have issues.

Another theory is South Africa is tired of being considered the worst host nation team. They got behind the Qatar bid promising this kid will be leading the Qatar-ian attack as a mature 30 year old.
