I think it's because even the casual fan can see what it is. It's very black & white (no slight to Henry), if the ball hits your hand, it hits your hand.

i agree with you here. handballs usually even have that THWACK-y handball noise.

but i hate diving more than anything else, personally. it annoys the crap out of me even when it's someone on my team. but mostly it annoys me when it's blanco or anyone on the sounders.
