those fuckin' hippiecrates...shearing the fans so brutally and unapologetically, then cancelling a gig because playing for PETA was sooooo much more important...hmmm wonder if PETA knows about this!

I am just surprised after all this time on the spork forum that there was absolutely no warning at all that it was being ditched.

But I guess it's been one of those years, where anything can happen anytime. It does create an underlying distrust for the fans, however.

actually, there had been warnings for the past 3 years. The "Powers" never really wanted a forum.

Those of us who constantly went to bat for it, once we were systematically removed, they could see no reason to keep it. I don't understand the logic, really. The biggest clue should have been when they stripped moderatorship down to two people who didn't want to do it anyway.

I think the Powers could have given a clue, like...
We are sorry, but we are no longer going to be providing a fan forum as of ______ date.

I guess that would have taken too much work...I wonder if it got dropped as part of the Hollywood alliance crumbling. If Hollywoood was footing the bill, I could see this. Still, no notice at all was not cool to the many of us who visited there almost daily. I had info stored in my pm folders that's just gone.

Same here, it sort of threw a big fat rock in my Cd Swappin Pond. Luckily I have most peoples info in my email but I was handling alot of it through PM. I would imgine this has alot to do with whether or not the hollywood alliance has broken.

Mere had mentioned she was going to clear out her pms because of the concern.
I had my info wriiten down since I don't trust myself not to delete anything important.

I guess that shows that they didn't care about the community that was created.
Even if you get fired, you usually get to clean out your desk (though there probably will be a security guard escorting you as you do it.)
