Dallas deaths of the day

Postby aquaphase » Wed Oct 01, 2008 4:35 pm

RIP CD World and Meridian Room

I won't really miss CD World since I only really used it to get last-minute tickets to Granada shows, but the Meridian Room will be sorely missed. At this rate, Rob's Chop Shop (my faithful barber between the now defunct Bar of Soap and Meridian Room) will have to either relocate or die.

it do suck. we went there for half price yummy cheese and other things last wednesday. Minc is apparently for sale(closing soon) and I don't much care for fallout as a destination,(i will duck in there if i'm in the area) so there goes expo park. I reckon once the dart line is up the place will become a west village jr... weaksauce.

and with bar of soap already closed, where is rob's "waiting room" gonna be?

The Amsterdam is still there - there's still hope - right???

Yeah, probably not. Meridian had really great food for a bar - even a lot of veggie stuff. Suck.

oh yeah, forgot about amsterdam, it's still there. it's another bar that I've always had a good time at but never seem to remember it when it comes to going out for the night.

DAMN IT!

I love the Meridian Room!!! Don't they also own the Libertine on Greenville? I wonder if that's still up and running.

Why did it close?

Scaraoke is moving to Libertine on Thursdays. And they started up the half price food over there too, but on Sundays. The Libertine also has these yummy-ass pita pies. most of them vegetarian friendly. and yummy.

libertine is good. the veggie burger and grilled cheese with tomato soup are both GREAT, nom nom. it's too damn small for general bar debauchery, though. it's gonna be standing room only for things like karaoke, and who wants to stand?
