is their live show different than their studio output? i just bought their album and i kinda like it okay, but it seems like it could be a funkier thing live.

aren't some of them ex-Spree folk, too?

not any ex-spree folk that I'm aware of. Mostly [DARYL] (Well, Beau and Dylan). The live show is very energetic, but not much different than the album. I wouldn't go as far to say that it is "funky." However, I try not to miss many performances.

their live show is a much fuller sound also(and they bring some visuals too), they've played a lot more together since recording the album.

they are really good in a small venue. in bigger places, i lose their intensity and can NEVER hear dylan. to me, they sound almost exactly like the cd. i've seen them three times but roach and justin are the experts on this one.

i like the CD. it wasn't quite what i expected; i was sort of expecting it to be slightly Flaming Lips-ish or Starlight Mints-ish. to my ears it kind of reminds me of Jimmy Eat World circa Clarity; big pop songs with a hint of psych-rock and powerful lyrics and atmospherics. yeah JEW kinda went all teeny-bopper, but Clarity is AMAZING.
