It will go public soon because the sales are at the title company now, but most of Deep Ellum, from Malcolm X to 45, has been purchased.

Most of the non-sell-outs were owners of the more historic and better preserved buildings. That should help keep some of the character alive. Even if the new planning and architecture maintains the feel of an edgy urban loft district, the fact of the matter is, douche-bags pay the rent and it takes a lot of rent-paying douche-bags to finance large-scale new construction. Maybe we need to work that problem from the supply side?
