$600, How are you spending yours?

Postby monet2u » Tue Apr 29, 2008 7:03 pm

I got mine via auto deposit on Saturday...yesterday I bought those solar outside backyard lights and I'm gonna get a bbq grill for sure, I also made another donation to Obama, the rest is going with me to vegas when I go to see Duran Duran and Cher (separately of course).

Sounds lovely!

I think ours is going to help defray (retroactively) the cost of hotel rooms in Venice, Florence, Rome and London. Thanks a lot, weak American dollar. YOU SUCK!

mine is helping to get me settled until i start getting a regular paycheck or two or three. come to find out, moving is expensive.

but i bet at least part of it is going to getting some new earrings. i've developed an unhealthy obsession. they're at 7/16 now and the jewelry you can get for gauged piercings is so effing gorgeous.

$1800, y'all! Having kids rocks.

And it is all going into the house... base boards, replacing some windows and a new door.

Bon's happy. We've been without baseboards for two and a half years now. We put flooring down back then and actually finishing out the job kept getting pushed back further and further.

If it comes soon enough, I'm gonna convert it to like four euros or whatever the exchange rate rape you for these days and buy myself a Prada knockoff, some wine, and other nonsense in Italy.
Otherwise, prolly Home Depot will get it.

The thing I read was that there is no mechanism to track down and redirect your refund & rebate if you or the person entering your return make an error entering the account or aba number. E-filing avoids that, but we weren't allowed to for some dumb ass reason. They can (in theory) find a live check that went to the wrong address or person and get it to you.

Yeah, tax rebate -or "stimulation package" as those pervs in Washington call it. It's supposed to make us forget abuot the war and love them Repubs again.

No. If you filed single return and made over $75k, if you filed jointly with your spouse and together made over $150k or if you failed to file a tax return or requested an extension you don't qualify. That doesn't mean you are completely out though. There's some math involved for phased reductions for those that made more than 75k or the joint 150k.

Every one else gets $600 each and $300 for each qualifying child.
So in our case I get the 600, Bon gets 600 and each kiddo gets $300.
