They used to call each other Dikfer at my old job.

- Mere "like Victor or Jennifer, but with Dick" 1975

P.S.
I am interviewing for a position and the manager of the division is named Dick. Really?! I would have (get) to say Dick all the time, on a daily basis???

P.P.S.
Seriously. Who wouldn't just go by Richard, Rick or Rich?

This guy. Which leads me to the question: you really want this job?

It was probably a week before I could say my old boss Dick's name out loud without cringing. He turned out to not be so bad. Not good though.

there are these handy things on the internets called emulators. you download roms and open them with emus to play them.
you can play honest to god real NES tetris. i play it everyday.

you can get a NES emulator here

ignore everything, just go to download and download the most recent one (which is at the top).

then you can go to this site: rombay

you have to register and stuff but it's the best ROM site ever. there are no popups telling you to go watch cartoon porn or whatever. anyway, once you register, go to Nintendo NES Roms and you can download pretty much every NES game ever created, including Tetris.

it's a lot of trouble but if you REALLY want to play, it's possible without an actual NES (or paying any money. mwahaha).

in my neighbourhood there's an arcade with a geniuine 80s tetris arcade machine... except the sound is broken, so it plays that damn tetris song at an EXCESSIVELY LOUD VOLUME, MAKING IT EVEN MORE HARDCORE AWESOME!!!!!!!!

yeah but the beauty of NES roms is that all you need is two buttons and the arrow keys. and for tetris you only need one button, really.

of course it's impossible to play some SNES roms. though i'm ALMOST just as good with the keyboard as i am with a controller for super mario world. i can still beat the game, so that's cool.

something like this could be handy:

Just plug in a ps2 controller and you can use it on the PC, great for Mame and other emulation. i've seen them for xbox and gamecube as well. looks like a whole bunch on ebay for cheap - search on 'usb ps2 controller'

or just go to Fry's and pick one up. I've had a PS2-to-USB dongle for about 6 years. It really helps with all the crappy SNES/Super Famicon games I like to play on emulator.

Deep inside me there are still remnants of a fifth grader and he giggles at the word "dongle".

I read "dongle" and thought, "Hey, that's a good nickname for Murphy!"
