I think Chicagoans just don't take kindly to outsiders. Also, I would never slag the architecture: it was pretty damn awesome. Squeezle and I spent a good half hour or so going around the Tribune building. Honestly, the only place we ran into "courteous" people was the Starbucks and the Hershey's store.

I don't hate all of Chicago. South Side was pretty damn nice. Lem's BBQ was some of the best grub I've ever stuffed in my gullet. We got the funniest looks for being the only white folk for 10 square miles, standing outside the little place stuffing our faces with ribs.

Heard Kanye Wests' "Homecoming" song and thought of M. Turner this morning.
I don't get it.

...but then that's been a theme of mine since Saturday.

I've always felt that way about Chicago, more so every time I go back, of which I'm doing again in November SO EXCITED

The only other place about which I get defensive like that is Dallas, but Chicago's still way cooler. And Justin, there are piss-slit people every where. You may just have had bad luck - Chicagoans are wonderful people. May I suggest some better bars and hangouts next time you're there?

And Chris - the bean is the coolest shit ever in the coolest park. Once again, I say: Peep my flickr set. Do it now.

I could go on and on. Chicago is the greatest city in America.

I really liked Chicago, but I didn't find that anyone was friendly, even waiters and such.

Except that bum that gave me directions for a dollar.

And that guy who I gave a "hello fellow person" smile to as I passed him on the street. Apparently he wasn't used to people just being friendly either, cuz he proceeded to holla at me for half a block.

And Boston is the greatest city in America. Sorry.

Boston's fantastic; love it - way up on the list.

But nothing tops Chicago. Verified.

you'd like it better in the summer when you can actually swim and be outside without freezing your texan ass off. i don't think you get how cold it's gonna be when we go ice skating at the quarry.
