The Strange Death of Liberal England

Music, movies, entertainment, etc. Because James wanted it (and seems like a pretty good idea)

The Strange Death of Liberal England

Postby zenmomma » Thu Jul 26, 2007 7:31 pm

Hello my friends... just thought I'd share one of new fave bands -
The Strange Death of Liberal England.

They are from Portsmouth (just south of Salisbury). I guess you could call them a "local" band. We haven't had a chance to see them live yet, but I think they are fab and can't wait to see them.

I saw them perform at Summer Sundae this year. I was really looking forward to it, but I'm sad to report I was sorely disappointed. High energy but I felt it was a bit more schtick than substance. But who knows? Festival environs don't always bring out the best in a band. I didn't get it though...

I've actually heard the same after reading some recent gig reviews. I guess I'll have to see for myself.

How was Summer Sundae? See any good bands? Just checking the lineup...

- Spiritualized Acoustic Mainlines!
- Gruff Rhys! (last show we saw of him solo was AMAZING)
- The Concretes
- Low
- Magic Numbers
