The Silent League

Music, movies, entertainment, etc. Because James wanted it (and seems like a pretty good idea)

The Silent League

Has anyone else heard the new album? I'm loving it.
I can't wait to see them next week. I only wish they brought
Harmony Rockets with them to the UK.

(I miss me some Mercury Rev real bad.)

Yup, I have the new album (but not the first album). They also have a UK tour ep (limited to 100 copies) which was only a bargainous £5.

We saw them last Thursday at the Borderline (with Loney, Dear as support- double awesome), and also on Sunday at Latitude Festival. The singer definitely has an air of Wayne Coyne about him, and the guitarist with the eye make-up is pretty cool.

which number ep did you get? ours was no 22.

the gig was really good - shame about the lack of people really. there were about 40 in to see the first local support band (kumiss - like an instrumental version of hope of the states) but most of them left - there must have been about 10 people by the time Silent League played.

which was a shame as they were really good. justin came over after the set to say thanks to us for coming as we looked like the only people enjoying ourselves. hopefully they got a few more punters in elsewhere on the tour.

Number 17 was mine. I could have had number 16 that was on the table, but I wasn't fussed.

And yeah, not too many at the London gig either. Which was surprising, as I just thought they'd somehow be more popular, or at least have some dedicated fans. We only discovered them a couple of weeks ago, and perhaps only view them as 'quite good', yet it seemed like we were the biggest fans at the gig! & not too many people saw them at Latitude either. Definitely a shame. Still, singer chap was kind enough to write me a story, so that was good enough for me.

I like Loney, Dear too... but haven't seen them yet. The guitarist with eye make-up (a/k/a Shannon) was awesome. I loved his vocals too.

wow

i just ordered this record. i had no idea it was out! this is such a brilliant record!

did any of you happen to be fortunate enough to visit the silent league website whilst they had two cd's-worth of demos and outtakes?

that told me the new songs might be brilliant, but it had no way of hinting at just how brilliant those new songs would be!
