Ja"robotech"mes

while it will probably date me, "g-force" was my cartoon of choice.

there was also this cartoon i absolutely loved but cant remember the name right now. it took place in space and the spacecraft was a ship with a huge cannon on the bottom.

anyone? anyone?

Wave motion canon, bitch! That was Star Blazers, my personal all-time favorite.

(the show was called Space Battleship Yamato in Japan where it ran a full hour in prime time)

Yes, Star Blazers was the shiznit. That was actually my favourite cartoon of my early years.

To split some hairs, there's a difference between "G-Force" and "The Battle Of The Planets". Mostly the same characters, but BOTP had the awesome 7 Zark 7 and his dog Pluto giving assignments to the team, where as "G-Force" had that dude, which is the lamer, more Americanised version that Ted Turner ruined for everyone...but BOTP is awesome...

Star Blazers freaked me out a little bit because they actually killed characters. I was used to cartoon folks coming back to life.

And then a week later someone on Speed Racer died by falling off a cliff.

Umm. Gatchaman. G-Force and BOTP were the abbreviated forms of Gatchaman. I've got all of 'em on DVD. Kicks major ass.

Plus, they killed people off in Robotech and Gundam all the damn time.

Did anyone watch Captain Harlock? I was pretty sure the Arcadia could take out both SDF-1 and the Yamato.
