so, like, the other day, miss phyllis challenged me to make her an awesome mixtape. so, like, i did. but i got to thinking, it's been a while since there's been a mix CD swap.
but i thought, 'you know, swaps are nice and all that, but why not do something new?'
so i thought, instead of 'swapping' with people, designate a person to be the recipient of mix cd's for a month. to initiate this, february is 'make phyllis a mix month.' for this month, everyone who wants to participate gets to make a CD for phyllis.
at the end of february, miss p gets to name the person who gets mixes for march. the catch? she gets to name the person from the people who made her mixes.
is this cool?
btw, i forgot the tracklist, so i'm posting mine here, partially to show off my coolness...

I'm in. But I'm not so sure it would make her cooler. I heard a commercail for one of these compilations from this year's biggest UK hits, and I liked every single song they played. Every single one.
But then again, I just tracked down a copy of Aphex Twin's "Selected Ambient Works 85-92", so I think my horizons are actually broadening in all directions, including some mainstream stuff.
So yeah, I'm in.

I'll only do it if Phyllis promises to like whatever i give her. It's not that I don't have stuff she'd like anyway, it's just that I have too much shit going on right now to devote the amount of time neccesary to do this little project correctly. As Such, I'll just be throwing it together all halff-assed.
OK??
OK??

wait, what kind of mixes are expected of us? is this one of those "i think you'd like this" or "these are songs i like, screw you if you don't" or god please no "let me try to find obscure stuff for you that you've never heard"? i could do the first two, but only after knowing what phyllis actually likes...

so many questions!
i do like the 10-song rule.
but i had to make an actual *tape* because i don't really have the kind of access to a CD burner for making mixes. burning things found online, sure...
anywho, yeah, the 10-song thing is nice.
but it shouldn't be a limit if you don't want it to be a limit, ya dig?
and just put things on it that *you* like that you want to share w/peeps. doesn't necessarily have to be obscure.

you made a tape? geez, it's the 21st century man. i might not be able to listen to it for a while because the only tape player i have is broken. ;(
and someone said something about what kind of mix it is; just put shit on there that you like. doesn't matter if you think i'll like it/i've heard it before.
