Damn, that song is good

Music, movies, entertainment, etc. Because James wanted it (and seems like a pretty good idea)

Every once in a while, do you rediscover a song you liked years ago, and listen to it over and over?

My re-favorite of the moment:

Dirty Girl - Eels

And you?

- Mere "that time is good and gone" 1975

"You'll have to wait until my cameo in the next season for confirmation" - eebs
"I'm one of my favorite things!" - irock

"Wrapped In Grey" by XTC. I think it's lyrically and musically as close to perfection as it gets.

"Some folks see the world as a stone
Concrete daubed in dull monotone
Your heart is the big box of paints
And others, the canvas we're dealt
Your heart is the big box of paints
How coloured the flowers all smelled
As they huddled there, in petalled prayer
They told me this, as I knelt there
Awaken you dreamers
Adrift in your beds
Balloons and streamers
Decorate the inside of your heads
Please let some out
Do it today
But don't let the loveless ones sell you
A world wrapped in grey
Some folks pull this life like a weight
Drab and dragging dreams made of slate
Your heart is the big box of paints
And others, the canvas we're dealt
Your heart is the big box of paints
Just think how the old masters felt, they call...
Awaken you dreamers
Asleep at your desks
Parrots and lemurs
Populate your unconscious grotesques
Please let some out
Do it today
Don't let the loveless ones sell you
A world wrapped in grey
And in the very least you can
Stand up naked and
Grin"

right now it's been Lexicon Devil by the Germs

[Chorus]
I'm a lexicon devil with a battered brain
I'm searching for a future, the world's my aim so
Gimme gimme your hands, gimme gimme your minds
Gimme gimme your hands, gimme gimme your minds
Gimme gimme this, gimme gimme tha-yea-yea-t...

I want toy tin soldiers that can push and shove
I want gunboy rovers that'll wreck this club
I'll build you up and level your heads
We'll run it my way cold men and politics dead...

[Chorus]

I'll get silver guns to drip old blood
Let's give this established joke a shove
We're gonna wreak havoc on the rancid mill
I'm searching for something even if I'm killed...

[Chorus]

Empty out your pockets you don't need their change
I'm giving you the power to rearrange
Together we'll run to the highest prop
Tear it down and let it drop...away...

[Chorus]

"strange powers" by the magnetic fields. i loved it and forgot about it but remembered i loved it this weekend: (make with teh clicky-click for a nice treat!)

On the ferris wheel looking out on Coney Island
Under more stars than there are prostitutes in Thailand
Our hair in the air, our lips blue from cotton candy
When we kiss it feels like a flying saucer landing

(C): And I can't sleep 'cause you've got strange powers
You're in my dreams Strange powers.

In Las Vegas where the electric bills are staggering
The decor's hog wild and the entertainment saccharin
What a golden age, what a time of right and reason
The consumer's king and unhappiness is treason (C)
The sun runs down like honey The moon pours down like mercury
The stars fall down like money You come back to me (C)

This is the third mention of Elliott Smith since Sunday night. I better listen to his music again.

- Mere "listened to the lyrics and realized 'Late' by Ben Folds is about him on Sunday, then heard his music in 'Good Will Hunting' that night" 1975

P.S.
I was also working on a page of a catalog with a vintage Love Boat toy on it (for school) and walked downstairs momentarily and saw a Catholic Boat parody on a South Park episode Sam was watching. Am I just paying attention to weird things, or do you go through phases when you notice bizarre coincidences like that over and over?

you know the song 13 on the thumbsucker soundtrack? who sings the original version? it's on gilmore girls when rory and dean first decide they're boyfriend and girlfriend.

awwwww.

it plays really softly, so i just noticed the other day.
