Knock on wood -- I haven't broken any bones. However, I did lose a fingernail after a girl in platform shoes stepped on my hand during a 4th of July parade. It grew back.

Are you superstitious?

In fact, I am delivering a Meals on Wheels route today at lunchtime. And it's raining. And it almost never rains. But I'm not complaining.

Have you ever considered joining the armed forces?

Yep. Right out of high school. I came this [-] close to joining the navy. Instead, I went to Hong Kong and did missionary/volunteer work for a year.

Do you have a grandpa or dad that was in a war?

Both grandfathers served in the big W - W - II. One was a surgeon from North Africa to Sicily to Italy and the other was trained as a combat engineer but was in an infantry unit in Belgium when he got all shot up (but survived). My dad totally lucked his way out of Vietnam, but that is another story.

Ever tried to sleep a couple tents over from some guy's dad while he is having a flashback to Vietnam? It's weird.

No.

And my daddy was a draft-dodger. Which is maybe why I'm here so it's cool.

What did you have for breakfast?

Mr. J actually has a picture he wants to share. But Mr. J doesn't have access to a scanner.

Isn't it disturbing to see people referring to themselves in third person?

not as disturbing as someone hiding their identity.

Are you aware that the local drugstore (like Walgreens) has scanning capabilities?
