Complete Guitar Hero 2 Tracklist Revealed

Music, movies, entertainment, etc. Because James wanted it (and seems like a pretty good idea)

Complete Guitar Hero 2 Tracklist Revealed

Postby mdmusick » Wed Oct 11, 2006 7:03 pm

Opening Licks
Shout at the Devil - Motley Crue
Mother - Danzig
Surrender - Cheap Trick
Woman - Wolfmother
Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight - Spinal Tap

Amp-Warmers
Strutter - Kiss
Heart-Shaped Box - Nirvana
Message in a Bottle - Police
You Really Got Me - Van Halen
Carry on Wayward Son - Kansas

String-Snappers
Monkey Wrench - Foo Fighters
Them Bones - Alice in Chains
Search and Destroy - Iggy Pop and the Stooges

War Pigs - Black Sabbath

Thrash and Burn
Cherry Pie - Warrant
Who Was in My Room Last Night - Butthole Surfers
Girlfriend - Matthew Sweet
Can't You Hear Me Knockin' - Rolling Stones
Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns N' Roses

Return of the Shred
Killing in the Name Of - Rage Against the Machine
John the Fisherman - Primus
Freya - Sword
Bad Reputation - Thin Lizzy
Last Child - Aerosmith

Relentless Riffs
Crazy on You - Heart
Tripping on a Hole in a Paper Heart - Stone Temple Pilots
Rock This Town - Stray Cats
Jessica - Allman Brothers
Stop - Jane's Addiction

Furious Fretwork

Face-Melters
Beast and the Harlot - Avenged Sevenfold
Institutionalized - Suicidal Tendencies
Misirlou - Dick Dale
Hangar 18 - Megadeth
Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd

Thoughts? I personally think this is a pretty badass, diverse selection. The inclusion of the Rev, Dick Dale, Stray Cats and Primus kinda suprised me, in a very good way. I can't wait to get my hands on this.

Coincidentally, I picked up the November issues of PlayStation Magazine, which includes a GH2 playable demo showcasing "Shout at the Devil", "Strutter", "YYZ", and "You Really Got Me."

Dallasses, expect an invitation for a Guitar Hero party from me at some point.

Discuss.

My GH2 debut number will be Girlfriend by Matthew Sweet, fo' sho!

I wouldn't necessarily call it "thrash and burn" but it does have a nice little break in there.

Looks like a fun line-up of songs.

OMMFK! I knew about a lot of these, but there were a lot of songs I didn't. I might as well quit my job right now.

OK, so I played through the demo disc several times last night. Needless to say, it is indeed the shit. "YYZ" was quite possibly one of the most fun Guitar Hero tracks I've played, including the first game. The triple-chords were a bitch to get acclimated to at first, but provide a more accurate sense of fretwork as opposed to button-mashing.

Can't wait to get the full version, and especially check out the new multiplayer modes.

Holy effin shit!

I read about this the other day but it still blows my mind!

I finally got my hands on the original through Gamefly (you were right Justin, playing with the controller is a bitch!) Now I must go by the original w/guitar and get the sequel as soon as possible!

Ooooooooh. Dethklok. I also read this past week that the "Trogdor the Burninator" theme is in there as well.

Aren't some of these going to be next to impossible to play?
