Last month I finished paying off the student loan from my degree. This month, I've applied for another one! And the one I'm having to get is bigger than the two loans I had as an undergraduate put together, due to £3,000 worth of tuition fees. But I think that you have to pay even more in the US, don't you?

I just passed the half-way point paying off my loans and I graduated 7 years ago, depressing. No $1k per month, though. That's crazy. Makes me glad I went to Hillbilly Tech as an in-state student.

That reminds me, I applied for tuition reimbursement, and earlier this week, they approved it!!! It's tuition only, and it doesn't cover books, but shit! That's a lot of money I won't have to borrow from the bank! I really didn't think they were going to approve it (in the employee handbook they make it sound pretty much impossible) so you have no idea how excited I am. :D

And on the same day I found out I got tuition reimbursement, I was also in a TV commercial with Robert Horry. What an interesting day!

i didn't have student loans cause i got a full tuition scholarship. my parents said that by getting that scholarship, i did my part for paying for school, so they picked up the tab for room and board and that sort of thing. i was a theatre major, so books were $100 at their most expensive, and i think that was actually my studio art semester where i had to buy art supplies. my best friend was going to consolidate his loans, but then he got a loan payment in the mail and flipped cause they didn't give him the 6 month grace period. he got that straightened out but not in time for consolidation.
dread stuff

I just did mine... it was a pain in the ass to figure out all that math but I am proud of myself for getting it done. I think I got a good deal from my credit union. I have a semester of loan-taking-out left so I'll have to figure out if I want to re-consolidate those loans... bleh. But I'll worry about it later.

I think it's only fair that I say something good about the US Dept. of Education right now, because I am genuinely impressed with the speed of my FAFSA application for this year.

I did it online at 10 p.m. -- it was confirmed and submitted to the Art Institute by 3 p.m. the following day!

I don't know a thing about consolidating the loans I have racked up so far, but I guess it's too late anyway. . .

A question for you guys:

I had a brand new teacher last night. When she signed my schedule at the beginning of class, she said this.

her: "Only nine hours? That's a light load!"
me: "Well, I work full time, and I just go to school at night."
her: "Toughen up!"

Fah q!

I have classes with her on Tuesday night and Friday night. :( Should I drop the one I can, even though it means a harder workload this quarter -- to avoid counting on her for 2 grades?

Am I overreacting?

So far, she does not seem like an interesting teacher at all.
