RIP Scrabulous
It's been "turned off" for the US and Canada. Our Euro-friends should still be able to plunk away, but we're hosed.

I imagine it's because they can't come up with a way to make money off of it.hasbro are nazi's when it comes to scrabble and yet they won't get on the bandwagon so that scrabble fans (and we are plentiful) can plan in new mediums. If they spent as much time developing ways for us to play instead of going after all the knockoffs...
oh for sure...cheap bastards.I imagine it's because they can't come up with a way to make money off of it.hasbro are nazi's when it comes to scrabble and yet they won't get on the bandwagon so that scrabble fans (and we are plentiful) can plan in new mediums. however, I will go on record as saying I own travel scrabble and when it first came out the plastic bits that hold in the tile would break off (I was playing every day at lunch) and I called Hasbro to complain about it and they replaced my entire game no problem. So they're not all bad.

I don't play any games on-line so I didn't really know what you were talking about until I heard a little bit about it on NPR.
Something about Hasbro has been working on their own electronic version but they didn't say when they'd have it ready for market. And that Facebook tried to work out some sort of licensing agreement but because they wanted to do their own, Hasbro wouldn't go for it. But I'm sure you all know about all that already.
I think of Scrabble kind of like Xerox and Kleenex. It out there and it's such a simple game, it's almost like it should be public domain for versions other than the original.
(But for the record, I do say "photocopy" and "tissue". )
