Taking note of the failure to launch of a Forker Footie endeavor (I'm still in if talent and skill are not required, btw), I would propose a bowling team. The former Triangle Bowl in Richardson is now an AMF franchise and appears as central as we can get. The next league session doesn't start until January, so we've got plenty of time to practice.
What I'm imagining is that we get together as a big group a few times this fall for fun. Because the league thing is every week, we will have to form a smaller group that is a little more hardcore. The advantage of being a hardcore bowler, you get to buy things like this.

I'd totally be in! And Richardson is doable for me.
Beware though, I'm more of a precision bowler. Any old body can accidentally bowl a strike. I've moved beyond that and I prefer to bowl like a laser. I am expert at flicking just a single pin down... usually from the right side.
Whipsnap! Be impressed!

Apparently, the leagues have handicaps, so consistency is the thing. I went to the Triangle Bowl regularly in high school. Being 24 hr, Don Carter's East was a little sketchy and the Bronco Bowl was too far away, and sketchy but you saw the coolest strangest people there. The king of sketchy bowling back then was the Love Bowl on NW Hwy which I believe now has a Whirlyball sign up, but has been closed for a while.
i was a big town kid too. it was always a kick ass time to go bowling then go pay a dollar and see four movies. too bad they bulldozed the place recently.I was a big town kid.
Not sure if it's still there, they tore down the mall last month.
ro"big town was the mall for the outside mall shots in True Stories"ach
