Double-booked!

Postby ChrisLovesYou » Wed Mar 28, 2007 1:25 am

Tomorrow, I work until 6:00 in the evening.

But play rehearsal starts at 5:30!

My question to YOU, dear reader: is devotion to the arts worth getting fired for?

Only if you want the sneaky little shits to steal your part. In theatre, your understudy is not your friend, they're the director's insurance.
I got to a show one time and the understudy (some Freshman, I think) was standing in my spot, hoping I'd be late. I was pissed.

Go to the rehersal, youve got your whole life to work (trust me on this one).

Commit to complete slack and don't show up to either one.

That'll show them!

Tell your director you are going to be a little late, and tell your employer that you need to leave a little early. Compromise!
