Remeber This Awesome TPS show?

Music, movies, entertainment, etc. Because James wanted it (and seems like a pretty good idea)

I remember a very well sold local show being cancelled at the last minute for some marketing opportunity.

I still think it's bogus for anyone to do a performance in support of an organization whose cause they don't actually believe in for publicity.

that does raise an interesting question (especially for the loose conglomeration of the spork). Is this the case where the "furhers" of the band say that this is what the band believes, or do they all get together and say "yeah, that sounds like a good cause." I'm guessing no consultation was made. Hell, I'd be wearing leather pants up there w/ kitten boots just to spite the powers that be.

You know, even if it was just "the furhers'" decision, I'd still understand if they were vegans. But I don't think they are (someone correct me if I'm wrong). And I didn't mean just the Spork - I'm sure more than half of the folks at the benefit weren't even veggie, much less vegan. It just seems stupid to me.

Bryan Wakeland and I had an involved conversation at that event regarding the wondrous taste of steak and barbecue ribs.

At quite a loud volume, at that. I think Cory Feldman overheard us.

how do they rectify being all PETA'd out with all the huge-ass BBQ's they'd have at Good instores?

They got confused. They thought it stood for "People for the Eating of Tasty Animals". In the end, they were sorely disappointed with the menu.

On a slightly related note, hahaha

This was done for two reasons (neither of which involved any type of morality whatsoever).

well, i'm not a veggie anymore but i still believe in killing an animal in a humane way, and for that I support PETA. i think if you're going to eat a cow you at least need to feed it and let it wander around a field for a while first, and then make its death swift and painless. i'd say PETA is more for that than trying to convert everyone to vegetarianism.

wearing fur and leather is another thing. humans do need protein, and meat is the easiest way to get it. you don't have to wear leather boots or fur coats. unless you're a sherpa.

I seriously doubt PETA would agree with you on that point.

I believe that standard (cheap) leather comes from cows that are slaughtered for meat. I could be wrong because it's not something I've researched but if so, leather being a by-product, I think letting it go to waste would be far worse than wearing it.

why be nice to an animal right before you slaughter it? the meat still tastes the same. probably tastes better if the animal is tortured.
