the first leg of WC qualifying against Mexico is 2/11/09 in Columbus... it's only a 16 hour drive.
My favorite soccer game was US-Mexico at the cotton bowl a few years ago. being in dallas I was basically rooting for the visitors, US. Donovan scored the game winner in stoppage, it was pretty awesome.

Hah, the game is just down the street (read: interstate highway) from me.
Bring your drunk coat and the temperatures will be fine. There's usually a drink minimum at soccer games anyway right?

Just got our tickets through Sam's Army. 55$ a piece for end line...
and reserved a room at the comfort suites that looks like it maybe walking distance to the stadium. columbus has cabs, right?

what do you know about the ruby tuesday? apparently it's not the chain, it's more of a bar and a bunch of folk are meeting there before the game then walking over to the stadium. it's under a mile from our hotel, so that's a plus.
