Several years back I was forced to go there 3 times in one year for an engagement party/bachelor party/wedding. Rudest people I have ever been around in the entire world, unaccommodating staffs, bartenders, store employees, etc.. It truely was hell on earth.

There's got to be something wrong with a place where a 35 year old cop keels over from heat exhaustion when it's 88 degrees outside.

I love Chicago!

However, I do not love Chicago's giant snow drifts and 4 months of white skies each winter.

I never noticed bad service or rude people. Except for that beotch Destiny Justic, who was definitely rude in high school and ended up being friends with my friends and marrying one of the nicest guys from our class. I mean, seriously, she used to throw volleyballs at my head! MY head! I guess I just brought out the worst in her.

But other than her, nice people.

This sounds awful, but you can't blame Chicago for one unfortunate chain of events. Chicago is my favorite city in the nation, and is also the place of my birth. Please give it another chance, it won't let you down.

Peep my flickr set for evidence of its resplendent glory.

Did I also mention worst traffic in the world? Never before has it taken me like 3 hours to drive 12 miles. I just loved having to be between downtown, Arlington Heights and Schaumburg in the span of 30 minutes (which is impossible).

I'm starting to feel that hometown defensiveness. You're within range off making me feel all "taking a dump on my front yard"-ish, like you're about to compare the Hancock Building to placenta. Seriously, Chicago's great. Give it another shot.

And have you tried Austin traffic? In a big city like Chicago, it makes sense. Here, it's proof positive that the retard roads were designed in conjunction with city planners who had all taken the one pill that makes you small.

I love Chicago too, but never had a time schedule to stick to and only had to walk/ride trains. Awesome pizza. Great museums. Cool record stores.

Isn't that a weird feeling? Especially when you never realized you'd had such geographic loyalty before?

Heard Kanye Wests' "Homecoming" song and thought of M. Turner this morning.
