Arcade Fire Needed In Dallas

I would like to beg AF to come to Dallas.

I won't do it...because I know how it all works...and have had to answer such emails before.

But I really could use seeing Arcade Fire right now. I have a big black taste in my mouth that I would like to get out.

If begging won't work, maybe there is some sort of subterfuge that we could try? Like impersonating their manager calling someplace here, and then impersonating the booking agent of that place... Didn't they do this in the Parent Trap?

Unfortunately, that might be an optimistic assumption.

I don't want to hijack Rubbs' plea for AF but, tell me about ACL.

I got "lottery" tickets for $50 and we've never been. Carrie probably can't go because she'll have a football game and now that she's Section Leader she says she can't miss a game...even though it's her birthday weekend. So, if we can go, it'll just be my husband and I.

It's a pretty damn awesome spread of 3 or so days of music. Squeezle and I did #2 and #3. #2 was rainy and all around pretty damn nice. #3 was hot and dusty and crowded. It's something I think most people should experience once in their life, and I think it'd be great for just you and your hubby Tracy. I imagine kids would get lost and/or bored there for the long haul.

The real secret of ACL is to look for the food and drink deals. All the food is really awesome, but there are a few things that are really worth the money ($4 chicken nachos come to mind). Oh, and it is always awesome to walk 8 miles back to your hotel/B&B because you don't want to wait 3 hours for a packed bus (no parking at ACL).

I actually enjoy it very much.

The bus service was really good when I went, it was probably the most well organized festival I've ever been to, I don't think I stood in line for anything more than a minute or two. It does get very dusty though.

They let you take in blankets, do it.

If you can get a room at one of the hotels directly on the other side of Town Lake, I don't think the walk is too bad. If it hasn't rained much leading up to the festival, the dust gets to be absolutely miserable by Sunday. I don't see how the grass regrows out there unless they close the fields all winter.
