To steal a line from Simon Cowell... it's like bad karaoke.
It's one of those that get stuck in my head. I was singing it all week last week. I took GREEN on our road trip and I think it's STAND that triggers SHP memories for some reason.

They didnt actually cover THAT SONG, did they? Really? That's just a fucking give up. "Give the people what they want," right? I hope the characature of what the Spree used to be will be lucrative for them.
I listened to I'm Calling last night. Wow. It was so much worse than I expected.
I know all you malcontents predicted it a long time ago, but still - I'm disappointed.

Hmm....did they actually re-record all the instruments? Parts of it sound lifted from the original track. The part that's supposed to be electric guitar playing the riff makes it sound like muzak. I think there's a reason this wasn't released. There are no taboos anymore, bring on "Get Together"!
Jennifer Jobe is singing the female line. She's easily the best vocalist in the band, but it's unfortunate she's trying to emulate one of the best female voices ever.

"I'm Calling" was my beacon of hope. Unfortunately I tired of it fairly quickly, but I still love the piano on that track, especially the opening bit...
I'm still curious to see what TFA will be like. I've heard a bit of a new song on their website and, thought it's just a snippet, it sounds pretty good. Good guitars. And it's probably good "Mental Cabaret" isn't going to be on it...

I never liked Mental Cabaret on record, but it's a BLAST live. And I still think I'm Calling is a beautiful, big, simple song, though the lead vocal on the first two lines is kinda irritating to me.

I'm struggling with whether or not to express my thoughts on this stuff.
