second verse same as the first for me...i didn't feel it before, and don't feel it now, but i'm sure it'll do them well.
oddly enough, it sounds like a more garage version of a song on the last Strokes record....

Hey, I wish em well, I just don't get them...in fact, I think they're funny in interviews...when they didn't show up to the Brits but accepted by video dressed as 1)The Wizard of Oz, and 2)The Village People, it was a laugh out loud moment. And then they decided to show up to the NME awards..?...that sort of thing is classic.
But we can't like it all....

I will only like the Arctic Monkeys if that dance troupe becomes a permanent part of their act.

I like it alright. If they performed with the bond-intro-esque dancers I would also endorse them fully.

yeah I have to admit, I quite like those dancer girls myself. They must be pretty good as that song as a really fast beat. It'd probably be a safe bet the band didn't mind them either.

Just saw that this morning. I thought it was The Caesars for a moment. I much prefer the music and beat on this song than previous releases. Is this on a new album? If so, I might be checking it out.

yeah they've speeded up the drums on their new stuff. this song is their first single (Brainstorm) coming out 4/16. and the album comes out 4/24.

I like that sog.
I do, however, think the dancers are less James Bond and more Coming to America. Some of their movies were lifted straight from this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mMwY3UW4QA[/youtube]

a) it annoys me when I you can hear someones accent very distinctly while they sing (be it southern, british, whatever)
b) that fucking music video just gave me a seizure. sweet lord, someone got cut-happy in the editing room.
c) i dont really see the big deal. everyones talking about how their sound is so different but they sound like everything else to me... libertines, strokes, etc. maybe im dumb.

1. well actually most people don't sing with an accent, but I suppose Alex isn't what I would even call a "singer" as in trained/professional.
2. the video is a take on the fact they didn't do it the record label/business way...and they still made it just fine doing it their way. That's probably not going to be really evident by most though.
3. Personally, I don't think they sound like everyone else and I listen to a lot of music and see lots of bands/gigs.
4. of course their music won't be for everyone...this is true. The thing about this band in particular isn't that they're the greatest musicians or write the best songs, it's more that their music struck a cord and they came (seemingly) out of nowhere to take Britian by storm...they weren't hyped (of course now everyone knows their name), the kids/adults/people just liked them...cause the made fun/catchy/good music.

im not at all of the opinion that musicians should be trained or should "sound good" or anything like that (hello, i'm obsessed with dylan), so its not that. it just isn't catchy to me, but maybe my zeitgeist is different than the brits and whoever else gets it.
i have no problem with the video besides there being 7 billion shots that last 0.09 seconds each. tons of music videos do that and it always annoys me. they also do it at the beginning of Romeo + Juliet (modern version) and it gives me a headache. i feel like someone is literally throwing images at my face.
