It's my fave new song by The Spork. In another thread, I gave a link to this song that hasn't been heard by many of you that haven't got the EP.

It's here for now: http://www.myspace.com/polyphonicspree

if the song's that good and it's merely a *b-side*, it kind of gives me a little bit of hope for the fraggle army....

It's the type of thing that makes me wonder who chooses the "singles" ...some of the best songs are not the singles. :?

However Ys has set the bar in my heart, and i still have a niggling that Tim might smack his head on it.

The first thing I thought of was how much it reminded me of the Muppets and Kermit the Frog. I really like it, but I tend to watch a lot of kids shows too...like Jack's Big Music Show on nogin, so that might be why.

the trachtenburg family slideshow players mentioned at their show a few weeks ago that one of their songs was being made into a video for jack's big music show. but i don't have noggin.

Why the hell is Tim Delaughter stealing lyrics from Devo?!

Seriously, feel-good hit single of the year right until THAT EXACT POINT.

Excuse me, did I miss something? Which lyrics are you referring to?

I'm goin' up
It's time to get it straight
I'm shapin' up
It's time to get away
Now whip it
Into shape
Shape it up
Get it straight
Go forward
Move ahead
Try to detect it
It's not too late
Okay, more of a stretch than I thought it was, but still.

... was I the only person who thought of that?

 I wouldn't have thought of that at all. But you're a very creative thinker.

Yes, a stretch, but those two lines are an unusual pairing for two lyricists to think of independently.

- Mere "Licorice whip!" 1975

esp when the author of phrase one is a huge fan of the writer of phrase two
