The Police Suck

Music, movies, entertainment, etc. Because James wanted it (and seems like a pretty good idea)

I thought of this when I read the closing quote, "Screw it, it's only music. What are you gonna do?" He's right the he can't re-do the performance and shouldn't get too hung up on it, but what you're gonna (or ought to) do is try and make damn sure it doesn't happen agai, especially when some people are spending a small fortune (way more than $100) to see them. But yeah, honesty about the parformance = cool.

Oh, and don't worry. By 6-13 they're sure to be less rusty.

yeah that's what I was thinking...they'll have had time to find their groove. I mean...come on they're are far older rock n rollers out there then them.

if it sucks, I'll blame sting and all his crappy solo music.

Four things:

1) Practice is necessary but there's no substitute for live gigs. No band is that good on their first show out. And if they are, they're not compared to getting in "the tour groove".

2) No matter how long people have been playing music, if they haven't been playing together for long, it's still awkward. That sort of interplay takes a bit of time, and no doubt there were some nerves at play.

3) Stewart Copeland is two things: a perfectionist and a misanthrope. His comments seem rather light-hearted though; a comedic set of jabs worthy of a court jester rather than beating up Sting (as was so often the case back in the day...they say).

4) Stewart Copeland aside, any musician worth a damn will pick apart his/her own performance...it's the drive for perfection, and it happens. He just happened to write his, rather humourously, on a blog.
