Life on Mars sequel

Music, movies, entertainment, etc. Because James wanted it (and seems like a pretty good idea)

Life on Mars sequel

Postby eebs » Wed Apr 11, 2007 5:57 pm

I don't know if you guys get this show in the US but the second and final series came to an end last night in the UK - Amy and I had a few ideas of how it would end but there were a few plot twists that we hadn't thought of - great TV.

Anyways, the best character was a police chief called Gene Hunt and we were both saying today that it was a shame that we might not be seeing him again..... only the BBC have now announced that there's going to be a sequel http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6542633.stm

Hopefully it will be as good as the original series. Here's a few youtube moments from the earlier episodes with Gene in top form:

I was a bit disappointed with the final episode itself...too many twists and turns seemed to just want to please everyone...still...they did get me on some things I never thought about.

Gene Hunt will go down as a classic character. Chalk "Life on Mars" up as a DVD must-have, and I look forward to this sequel, and hope they don't make it campy...maybe like a cross between LOM and a detective drama...or even a detective drama....

They showed the first series over here on BBC America, but I haven't seen anything about the second one yet. So don't tell me what happens! LaLaLaLaLa *covers ears* I did read something a while back about an American version in development - I think David E. Kelly was involved so that sounds promising.

Oh, and I read that John Simm will be playing The Master on Doctor Who!! Any confirmation on that or is it one of those internet rumors?

Sybil

p.s. I also heard there is an American adaptation of "Footballers' Wives" in the works as well - god, just kill me now.
Are you on the list?
