running away from shiny, happy crap

Music, movies, entertainment, etc. Because James wanted it (and seems like a pretty good idea)

"I'm Calling" was my beacon of hope. Unfortunately I tired of it fairly quickly, but I still love the piano on that track, especially the opening bit...

That's cause Evan Jacobs rules the piano!

And it's probably good "Mental Cabaret" isn't going to be on it...
maybe they're not complete morons after all. whoever convinced them not to use it is a genius.

When you say 'Mike Garson', you don't need to mention he's ruling the piano. It's just sort of implied...

Jeez, ppl, lighten up! I haven't been memorizing the liner notes, for sure. Anyhow, I agree that the piano playing is good. I wasn't trying to put anyone down or anything. And yeah, I like Evan Jacobs...so what?

Um...I didn't mean what I said in any sort of catty way, but you can appreciate the fact that it is indeed the natural progression of what would be said. It's a case of "it's funny with vocal inflections" but perhaps not so much otherwise. It's just a case of making corrections; that's what I do. But Mike Garson played all the piano on those songs and all the stuff on the upcoming album, at least they said so on the blog.

You're cool, James. It's the other 2 comments that were kind of uncalled for. At least now I know Evan J didn't play that. But it's good no matter who played it, and now I know Mike G did. Thanks for the info. I trust you as a source always, and respect you for keeping all of us straight on stuff.

Thanks to you, too, Sandra!

Does it change things that the song is back on the album?

For my own personal music tastes? No. But it could be good for them, so who knows. I have it on good authority from a reliable source that it's a lot of fun live, which I can see. I just don't like the studio recording of it, and I'm sure I'll just skip over this track for that reason.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my irritation that the bulletin they posted says "Polyphonic Spree on Lollapalooza!" Prepositions are our friends, they shouldn't be abused.
