long time no see! i just got back from a 2 week trip, and thought i'd come on and say hello. my online activity has diminished significantly, but i still think of you guys!

Georgia was the destination; I-20 was the route. went to see grandma in a little town called Statesboro

Statesboro is way south of Atlanta, and I am north of Atlanta, so the answer at that time was no.
However, I lured shen to a Steak'n'Shake near my house after visiting her aunt. It was great meeting her and her family, even if just for a while.

Luring someone to Steak'n'Shake should only be scary to people on a diet!! Actually, I told Steve that he's the 3rd forumite that I've had come to my town. All the others lured me to go elsewhere to meet them.
Anyhow, as you see, I've released Shen and Steve since meeting with them. (And Peter/Spidey, his wife and brother.)

Yes, but my forumites are long-distant travelers residing in Texas, Kentucky/Scotland and Britain.
I guess you owe me a guest room next time I pass through to carry on the merry tradition.
