have an old but working computer that you're willing to part with for cheap?

mine died on me. i have access to good computers here at the library, but not at home, and i'm a little too broke to afford a brand new one. just thought i'd check.

do you know what's wrong with it? You have quite the bevy of computer resources around here and I have a few spare parts right now if the beast can be repaired.

We can rebuild it... we have the technology pedals1

i believe it's the power supply that went out on it. i'm on my way out the door, and i'll check it out and get the info for it. i assume it's the power supply, as it won't turn on. it'd been acting kind of contrary for the past few weeks; where you'd turn it off, and when you'd turn it back on, it would be slow to start. at first i thought it might have been the connecting chord, as i'd fiddle with that for a little bit, and it would eventually come on. but i got a new one today, and it didn't help at all, nor did it come back on.

nice offer, and not one to take for granted. if i were closer, i'd make that offer, too. if only just for the chance to see you in person to determine if you truly EXIST! haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

frog"no, really. good luck with that computer thing..."gy

EDIT -- i meant if mr. j exists. i know that a-phase exists, for he is married. (nostradomas)

. . .but then the last day i wore a wet suit
Why do I get the feeling that we'll see an encore of the wet suit one night when we meet Roach out somewhere like Lee Harvey's?

Roach can wear a wetsuit, but I reserve all rights to any Corey Glover impersonations.

A power supply might be the one thing I don't have at least one spare piece o' crap of as I had to replace mine last year as well.

it was a borrowed wet suit... but the guy lives in arlington so I'm sure I could borrow it again.

i keep forgetting, but i'll get the info for what i think is the defective part, but i'm kind of enjoying not having a computer at home these days. i find myself getting a lot more things done. plus, i've needed an impetus for buying a new computer...youknow, so i can catch up with the technology of the late 1990s....
