I have a tendency to get overly drunk and "huzzah-y" at those things. I think it's been that way since I was 10.

(though they are an excuse for me to use my drinking horn)

I also went in 6th grade (different school though) and it was pretty fun. My grandmother lives right near by there so when it's going on you always see people from there at the store/gas station/etc. they're still in their costumes. It's pretty neat.

Yeah, and in the immediate vicinity it's not an issue. It's when you want to stop on the way home and have dinner that you've got issues.

hold on a second is this a scarborough in america? I live about half an hour from the REAL scarborough, where there is a proper scarborough fair with townies and scary rides that fall over. and theres a castle- on a cliff.

I can't say I'm a fan. The one time I did go was fun, but partly for the snickering at people taking themselves more seriously in costume than they probably due in any other aspect of their lives. Who decided to call them renaissance fairs anyways? Most of the activities they commemorate are from long before then and other locations.

Then again, its kinda like a themed halloween party, which I would be all for in principle.
