i just got a packet from someone in england, and in it was some British candy. holy-moley, it's soooo much better and sweeter than anything i've ever had stateside. it's like, these sweets were soooo sweet...just take a hammer and knock my teeth out right now...

why is british candy so much sweeter and richer in flavor?

Depends what sort of sweets they were- not all of our sweets are that, well, sweet.

Oh, and we *heart* sugar.

Maybe they use REAL sugar instead of "high fructose corn syrup"? Or maybe it's something else.

the difference i find between american and UK chocolate bars are that ours are VERY sweet and yours are VERY fatty-tasting.

they were gummi fruit, like strawberries and cherries and grape. very delicious. and in a li'l paper bag, as if they'd just bought it from a sweet shop vendor and sent it to me. which, of course, is exactly what happened! very yummy. :D

Thought so, as soon as you said "cherry" the penny dropped! Russ knows Rachel through the reviewing/record label stuff he does. She sometimes plays stuff Russ has released on her radio show, and she has helped us with some record label stuff too.
