So Abby wanted Wheatabix and we went to the British store today in Grapevine, and they totally had Walker's Prawn Cocktail crisps. They're yum. And I got some Roasted chicken ones too and they taste like Thanksgiving.
And some vegetarian haggis, which I'll have to report back on later.
Anyway, thanks for the recommendation!

oh yes, they're super tasty and contain no shrimp
so how does a veggie type person end up eating roasted chicken flavor ones anyway?

Eh, they were veggie too, and sounded interesting. I actually got them for Jason, but I tried some.
Ultimately, I think the prawn cocktail flavo(u)r were a little sweet for my taste, but I'm glad I got to see what they tasted like.

They taste like the cocktail sauce, not the actual shrimp. So kind of like ketchup with a slight tang of horseradish??

actually, all of walker's crisps are vegetarian, even the meat-flavoured ones. The funny thing is, for a long time, they were all vegetarian but one: cheese and onion! They've corrected that. But working with Orthodox Jews I'm often updated on the various states of Kosher. Apparently, Walkers Salt and Vinegar is now considered "milchig", meaning "milky" because they have some sort of dairy product in their making. Not cheese and onion. Salt and Vinegar. Figure that one out.
Oh, and the wacky crisp flavour contest was won by the worst flavour ever: Builder's Breakfast. Supposedly there are three different flavours of crisp: egg, sausage and bacon. All I could taste was crap.
If you can get Worchestershire sauce flavoured ones, try those. They're awesome.

Meredith wasn't a fan of the Yorkshire Pudding ones that came in the Great British Dinners sampler pack (provided by the Maidments, tyvm), or was it Lamb and something that smelled like dog food? Tasted ok to me.

ooo I've had Worchestershire and they are super yum.
That's funny I never notice that all their crisps were veggie. I guess I only read as far as the flavor.

cheese and onion. mmmm.
in the nearly three years i've been vegetarian, it's never occurred to me to check if chips had meat in them or not. i'll let this one slide and be better in the future.

sounds like you're ok... I would just think that if it's chicken flavor then there would be at least chicken stock or something, but I guess not.

It happens. I'd been eating these baked potato ones forever before I noticed the word BACON on the ingredients list.
I'm a label reader, but when there are 34524 ingrediencts it's easy to miss stuff, and some times the ingredients change without notice.

¡Alert! Zapp's has a limited edition flavor called VooDoo that combines the wonderful flavors of prawn cocktail crisps with the tantalizing texture of kettle style chips. They are delightful.

My current favourite are Brannigans roast ham and pickle.
