If we seceded it would be to get away from the rest of the nutjobbers in the US. Plus, I have much greater chance of taking over "the nation" if it was so small and weak willed.

Actually, no! I was pleased to find out he did not get a free/"non-revenue" TollTag. He has to pay.

Only *I* get the non-revenue tag! Ha ha, Dubya.

If you want to speak of secession, the true bellwether is South Carolina. They were one of the first to declare independence from England (independently of the other states), they were the first to secede to conform the confederate states, and then they were going to secede from that too but they lost and had to go through reconstruction.

The scary thing is though, it would be much easier for Texas to do it than any other state. I think it's just a lot of bravado at this point...

No, it would be equally IMPOSSIBLE for Texas to secede as any other state. As long as there is a United States, Texas will be part of it.

Ironically enough, just today, the Honorable Governor Goodhair called on the evil and feared FEDERAL GOVERNMENT to send aid to poor lil ole Texas, in the form of anti-viral drugs from the CDC, cause we're skeered of the pig flu. That pesky federal guvment comes in handy now and again, eh Rick?

I'm sure we only got pig flu cuz we got those damn Mexcins, and if we were independant we'd "be able to secure our borders without interferance."
Then we can give all those $7 /hour highway and costruction jobs they STEAL back to the hardworking Texans that want them so badly, amiright?
