Slick Rick gives me the creeps. It's all political play and pandering.

Otherwise I'd be all ihellyeah! about this.

It also designates that all compulsory federal legislation that requires states to comply under threat of civil or criminal penalties, or that requires states to pass legislation or lose federal funding, be prohibited or repealed.
Interesting. So if the fed says, "enact this law or you lose funding," we're gonna say, "screw you we're not gonna and you have to fund us anyway?"

The example that springs to mind is the fed telling all states they had to raise their drinking age to 21 or lose highway funding. Louisianna held out til - well, their roads started crumbing.

So ok then.

That man is such an absolute embarrassment that I'm actually looking forward to voting in a REPUBLICAN primary for the sole purpose of getting him out of here. But didn't his hair look nice?

Sy "I'm a little bit scared of Republicans when they gather in significant numbers...and vote" bil

I find it funny that suddenly Republicans are all "states rights" again. Where was all of this rhetoric before? In fact, the whole strength of the National Government started eroding states rights started under Reagan and continued pretty much unchallenged since then. I don't necessarily disagree; in fact, I'm a huge states rights proponent. I just consider it a false podium from them when they clearly didn't care about it for the last 29 years, especially the last 8 under King George...

These are the same people that just six months ago wanted to make it very clear they were the party of Lincoln.

i would like to know wth states rights are. i mean, i know it means that things are left up to the state instead of the national government. but what issues exactly do they want to make decisions on?

Well, we went to the teabagging party here in Denton, and it made me lose the will to live.

And the hypocrisy, well, it was completely overwhelming. My favorite sign along those lines "Dissent is Patriotic". Something tells me that guy didn't feel that way when it was Natalie Maines doing the dissenting. Or people protesting the Iraq war. Or I could go on, but why bother. Self-awareness seems to be a trait sadly lacking among the lunatic fringe.

How many people were really at those things though? I've got this impression it's actually a loud but tiny movement. Either way, dunbasses.

the "tea party" (i didn't see anything about tea anywhere, btw) was pretty crowded. granted, the weather was really nice. and most people are off work by 6. and i have no idea how it stacks up against other protests. now i'm just wondering why these christian conservative capitalists (as one person claimed to be with their sign) weren't at church like good christians. whatever.

i've never seen so many grammar mistakes in one place. and signs that looked like they were written by fourth graders. i've seen elementary school kids with better penmanship. one guy was holding a sign that said "PROTECT THE SECOND AMENDMENT" which looked like a retarded monkey wrote it. or maybe he decided to write with his feet. i am still trying to connect taxes and the second amendment.

my personal favorite was "STOP USING MY TAX MONEY TO PAY FOR KILLING BABIES"

oh yeah and "BOYCOTT PAYING TAXES" i guess he's going to stop paying federal income tax. and stop purchasing things with sales tax. ok let's see how long that lasts~

You should have followed her home and robbed her, then we could all get preggers and abort our babies with her hard earned cash.

It's a little hobby of mine.

hint: these people don't actually know what states rights, taxation, socialism or anything are, they're just given the order to get angry from on high
