once a year the federal government implores me to wonder if, the way i live my life know, i am honouring the men who died face-down in the mud at vimy ridge.

the way it is, it's mostly a reason to get drunk in the middle of the week. god bless our armed forces.

whenever someone mentions the vimy ridge memorial it has to be noted that hitler fucking loved it (and didn't tear it down) because it was the only 1st world war memorial that wasn't like 'FUCK GERMANY! WAR IS AWESOME!' a la this memorial australia built.

I don't celebrate war, but those that died fighting are important and shouldn't be forgotten.
