i got laid off this week. it's a bummer, but, really, i haven't been too happy with my career path as of late. so i guess it was a blessing in disguise--i can finish up my coursework without stress (the job had me on the road a lot), i can look for a real job now, and, well, i can write again! (they'd blocked all the fun spots and kept an eye on all our online activities). besides the state's about to clean house and shut down a lot of small offices like ours...and the day after they fired me they began a program which, in essence, will cause a lot of small offices to shut down. i'd rather get the axe and move on with life, than have that fear hanging over me on a day-to-day basis.

best part about it was i knew it was going to happen, and i told my bosses who did so that. they looked stunned and said 'how did you know?'

'a sinking ship has lots of leaks' was my response.

no because if you were really cool, all you would say is "420" and we'd all know what you meant.
