how do they know how tall he is if he was in a wheelchair? i'm a terrible judge of height if someone is standing, let alone sitting.

I didn't know that Southland lost 7-Eleven to the Japanese while I was living out west in a town with only Circle Ks!

Eebs is correct. Back in the olden days when 7-11 first started, they were indeed open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Seven days a week, closed on Christmas Day only.

I kinda thought it might have been the opening times, but the story said the store was open at 2am, so that threw me.

7-11 was a closer bike ride for us, but when we got older we would ride our bikes down beltline to mr m's. they had better video games. what happened to having video games in the grocery store and convenient store?

No shits. The Safeway next to our TG&Y used to have an old Pac-Man and an original Taito Space Invaders. I probably pumped a couple of hundred dollars into those machines. When they got Dig Dug I was convinced I wanted to work there.

Oh, nowadays they're open 24/7. No more closing for Christmas even. But back in the early days of 7-11, about the only things open 24 hours a day were police stations and hospital emergency rooms.
