Neti Nose Douche

Dear Shauna, or anyone else who uses a neti pot,

So, I finally got a neti pot.

And I think I used it the right way -- but it made me cry because it hurt my sinuses! Like when you get a nose full of water in the pool.

Am I doing something wrong?

Sincerely,
- Mere "owweee" 1975

i have found that the temperature of the water is very important - too hot or too cold and it is hurts like hell, think ice cream headache - i try to get the water to feel as close to 'body temperature' as possible. also, it can be painful for me if the water is too salty, or the salt is not dissolved completely. other than that, it hurts sometimes if the water seems to flow too fast or too slow - it feel like it is creating a pressure cooker in my sinuses - i try to adjust the tilt of my head to regulate the flow of water. it takes a bit of practice to get the hang of it. hope this helps.

happy douching!

Thanks! I might have had it too salty. I will get back on the Neti horse and see if I can get used to it.

I've actually had my eye on one of these for a while, but have been too scared to use one. Maybe I'll give it a go!
