i got into a fucking car accident last night on the way home from work (just before midnight) because it was snowing like a bastard. tried to take a curve and my car slid and spun and my front driver's side tire slammed into the sidewalky thing in the middle of the highway. no other cars involved and i'm not hurt (though my lower back is really sore), so sweet. sort of.

got my car towed the 60 miles back home (thanks, parents, for the triple a coverage) and brought it to the mechanic where it was discovered i have a bent front control arm, need a new tire, a new rim, and an alignment. usually, my dad would just do all that stuff for me but he left this morning for australia. so it's going to be four hundred and fifty fucking dollars. awesome. it is, in fact, the MOST awesome, because four hundred and fifty dollars takes me OVER A MONTH to make at my current job and i'm supposed to be saving money so i can move.

this week is bullshit and snow sucks and the world can die in a fire.

i was one of those douchebags on saturday night. running to my car all wasted to get my laptop and i wiped out on some ice. add a car accident on that and no wonder my fucking body hurts.

Here at Ohio University, everybody walks everywhere. Your busted car totally blows ass, Katie, but watching prim and proper sorority girls bite it on a patch of the slippery stuff makes ice the catalyst of all our wildest hopes 'n dreams.

haha. people falling is awesome in general, but when it's a dumb bitch, it's ten times funnier. i was sort of pissed no one saw me fall on saturday night because not only did i deserve it, but i'm sure it was hilarious and i just laid on the ground for a while until i could get my bearings together to get up. i'm pretty clumsy in general but add drinking and ice to the mix and i'm a fucking disaster.

When I moved to England, my mom bought me these things you slip on over your shoes that have titanium pegs on the bottom. It is supposed to stop you from slipping on ice. She though it was going to be mega cold and icey in the winter. Unfortunately - or fortunately - the south doesn't get much snow/ice. I've never been able to try them out.

sorry lady, that sucks. just think of it though, once you get here you'll never have to worry about stuff like that again.

update to my snow sucks story:

i get a call at rehearsal at 4 pm friday that my car is ready but i only have til 4:30 to pick it up. no way i can get back there so fast, even if i had a car to drive. so i have to wait to pick it up til monday. the worst suck part about this is that i have to work alllllll weekend in the city, which is like 60 miles from my house. suck suck suck.
