Evel Knievel was one part Any Given Sunday, one part Elvis, one part Six Million Dollar Man and one part Kung Fu.

Any kid that rode a bike in the 70s at some point made some kind of cape to tie around their neck as they attempted their first ramp jump because of him.

My very first go at it was on a blue huffy with ape-hanger handle bars and a banana seat. I cleared the ramp okay but the landing sent me flying over the front-end face first where I snacked on a mouthful of dirt.

It was at least better than by best friend that hit a brick and broke his arm.

noooooooooooooooo!
my brother and I(it was more his as the scars all over his head will tell ya) had the Evel motorcycle playset. set the jumps up on the playset, check for safety, then go outside to make the jumps. The neighbor's jaw kissed the back of the station wagon on one occasion.

ro"not enough parents name their kids evel these days.'ach

Did he die??

He was just in the news for "making up" with Kanye West, because Kanye ('s stunt double) ripped off his moves in a video.

It's kinda strange because the idea of Evel Knievel has had it's own life for quite a while now.
