DAWG (not Michael)

Postby mere1975 » Tue Nov 27, 2007 9:48 pm

So. . .
Sam said I could get a second dog.

There are two that we like, who are both medium-size and look to be low-shedding breeds.

Dog A: "Gertie"
PROs - I saw her in person and know she is calm, nicely housebroken, spayed, and 3 years old. Perfect size.
CONs - Although she doesn't shed much, she is pretty oily. Even after a bath and grooming, I think she will leave some hair and/or dander around, which is not good on my nose.

Dog B: "Sawyer"
PROs - He looks like an actual Wheaten Terrier, which means handsome and no-shed fur that is easy on my nose. Also perfect size. Sounds friendly and easy-going. Loves car rides. 1 1/2 years old and neutered.
CONs - We don't know for sure if he is housebroken.

Should we get one of these?

Wait for the "perfect" sure thing dog?

Or be happy that we are doing well with one dog, and keep it at that?

This is the best advice. It's how I got my Isis, too.

That's how Lilo got Stitch!

...I can't find Gertie on that page anyway - maybe she was already adopted?

Sawyer looks sweet, but speaking as a person who's had a lot of issues (thankfully in the past) with housetraining, I'd say wait till you find the perfect pup. I also think you should get a little one that can ride around on Bella's back, and you can call him Didymus, but I know lots of people don't like small dogs.

Well, shoot. I thought they were bluffing when they said someone else had called about her as well.

I feel better knowing she has a home already.

sure you can!

I got ruby cuz I was looking every day for my missing kitty and after almost 2 weeks I gave in...the first kitty I wanted got adpoted while I was deciding on getting a new cat. When I got back ruby jumped at the cage towards me and we've been bestest buds ever since. she whines a lot tho. ugh, a bad habit she's picked up the past couple of years. she used to be quiet. oh well I still loves her! :D

By the way. . . GOT HIM!

He's adorable and a little bit weird (in a good way) and after 72 hours, not a single accident in the house!

(Well, he did pee of a stack on newspapers at my parents' house. Oops. Easiest clean-up ever, though!)

It's going well so far. . . even Bella seems to be getting used to having him around.

P.S.
His name is Murphy now.
