Well, in his defense, he said "something came up," not that it was a family emergency.
What came up was a Halloween party. Is that frowned upon?
This story is probably true, but it reeks of an urban-legend-in-the-making based on the fear of readily available personal info, thanks to the Internet. . .

thats why you limit who can see your profile, espec. pictures and dont be friends with anyone from work. lesson learned.
dal "my old campers saw me grinning with a glass of beer on my facebook before i realized and changed my privacy settings... i felt like someone had watched me shower" ya

soooooo true. i got a friend request from my boss at my jewschool job and nearly had a heart attack. she doesn't need to know that i've been using my time at work to scrab and avoid pirate attacks.
