...about the
death of tv?
[On Nov. 1, the contract the Writers Guild of America has with the TV networks and film studios runs out. And though the impact won’t be immediate for filmgoers, within a couple of months a strike would have a serious impact on the small screen. If a strike drags on for some time — and the last writers strike, in 1988, lasted five months — 2008 could be very painful for entertainment consumers.]
the article's a few days old, but i couldn't really find a better one. apparently the strike started today.
ka"if lost doesn't get all 16 episodes in this season, i am going to SERIOUSLY flip out"tie

I called that one out early. I like the idea of so many goodevil/evilgood characters.

just as I started actually watching mainstream tv again...finally after like 5 years there are some shows I'm actually liking. oh well, I'm sure the ones I watch are already made so I'm good until the end of the season.

i'm for the writers. fuck all the big wigs who cry about their shit on youtube because they can't collect revenue like they can if you watch it from their website. the writers aren't seeing any extra clams, or bones.
i'm a little bummed the writers on the daily show and colbert and snl are missing out on so much political comedy gold, but I think they'll be ok.

does this affect charlie rose or gilmore girls? unscripted and off the air? oh, ok. whew.
lets just get some 8 year olds in vietnam to write grey's anatomy. what's the big deal? they can do everything else. although the show might suddenly develop bad grammar and a strong political platform.
