A worrying trend

The past few weeks, I've read about numerous animal related attacks/deaths:
A "horde" of monkeys push a man off a balcony: BBC NEWS | World | South Asia | Monkeys attack Delhi politician
Elephants get drunk and go on a rampage: Elephants electrocuted after beer-fuelled rampage | Special reports | Guardian Unlimited
Dog shoots owner: BBC NEWS | World | Americas | Dog shoots Iowa man during hunt (not uncommon apparantly)
Cows attack man in field: BBC NEWS | England | Sussex | Cows attack dog walker in field
I used to think that most animals were quite friendly, but from this evidence I might have to reconsider.
