No kidding! They're praying to the sun and moon. I mean... wtf?!
As for the other thing, I don't see breastfeeding, even extended breastfeeding as something sexually stimulating or perverse. So I'm not shocked, repulsed or even opinionated towards those that decide to allow their kids to do this. This example does go a bit further than most and that's why they are they are the subject in this film. But I've had several friends of the le leche league persuasion that have breastfed their kids until they were four or five and the kids are fine.

Do you think the director purposefully used the shot of the girls eating raspberries as foreshadowing of what was to come?
I also have at least one friend who breastfed her son until he was 5 years old. I just never saw them feeding, so this was pretty surprising. I guess in the grand scheme, there are worse things you can do. . . ?

that creeps me out. breastfeeding in general creeps me out because i'm the least maternal person on the planet, but at 8 years old? three words: glass of milk.
